Vampires

The Beginning…

            Only a vampire can create another vampire. The history of these dark creatures begins when a  single vampire created the others.  The very first vampire started out as a human man named Ambrogio, an Italian-born adventurer.  A string of blessings and curses transformed Ambrogio into the first walking undead.  It began when Ambrogio fell in love with a maiden from the great temple of Apollo in Greece. Enraged by this, the sun god Apollo cursed the man so that his skin would burn if it ever were to touch sunlight again. 

Now a full fledged vampire  Ambrogio moved back to Italy.  Legend has it he then created the first vampire clan in Florence.  It is said that the first clan members were most likely willing volunteers.  These humans wanted power and immortality and were eager to trade their souls for it. The curses would continue for all the vampires, where their souls would remain in the Underworld, until they returned to get them, but then would never be aloud to escape.  Many believe that Ambrogio still resides in Florence, living out his cursed existence.

There is a living breathing energy that exists all around us in the universe.  This energy is alive and gives all things life.  A vampire knows how to tap in and use this living energy for their own advantage.  Some do this by drinking blood, some do this by tapping into the spirit energy and suck the life force right out of the living.  The blood of live humans is always preferred, but animal blood will do the trick if need be, to satisfy the vampires hunger. Fresh blood is necessary for the survival of the creature.  The blood is what regenerates the body and heals any wounds.  Vampires are essentially dead, so their bodies naturally decay.  Fresh blood they get from their living victims, moving through the body allows the flesh to stay alive. A vampire knows how to take the energy they want and need from the living and use it for their own purposes. Most vampires need to feed only a couple times a week to maintain health.   A wounded vampire will need to feed more as blood is needed for the healing process.  As the vampire ages, less blood is required to feed the dead flesh.  The older a vampire gets, the stronger its power becomes, and the less mortal its body is, therefore requiring less blood or life force.  Both male and female vampires are extremely attractive, and they use this to attract their prey.  They seduce their victims with their alluring hypnotic energy before attacking.  They say if there’s a struggle with a frightened victim during embrace, fear improves the flavor of the blood.  The vampire also gains more intense satisfaction from blood enhanced with lust.

Some vampires also have different psychic or telepathic abilities.  They could have all or none.  They are telepathic (mind reading), empathetic (suggestion, hypnosis and emotion detection), psychokenesis or telekinesis (mind over matter), clairvoyance (sensing the unseen), pyrokinesis (mind over fire), and rheiki (life-force or aura manipulation).   All vampires possess unnatural strength which makes them fast-moving, have great hearing and have an improved sense of smell and vision.  A vampires bite can give the vampire mental control over the victim if a vampire enters a victims mind during a bite.  Most are able to “smell” emotions such as fear and lust, and some are able to detect lies.  Eye contact with a vampire can also cause it to take temporary control of the victims mind and put them in a hypnotic state.  The vampire can give commands to the victim, or will reduce the pain of the coming bite.  A very powerful vampire can put a victim into a permanent hypnotic state or deep trace and can call the victim anytime and anywhere and they will answer.  They use the power of glamour to make their appearance more attractive to humans.  Some vampires are able to put forth a hypnotic effect over large crowds.  A vampire can alter a persons memory causing them to forget certain things or remember them differently.  Some have the ability to fly or levitate.  All vampires have the ability to awaken from sleep if needed or disturbed.  Most vampires can only draw power from drinking blood, however some older vampires can gain energy from emotions such as lust and fear.
