True Blood

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood..for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.”  Leviticus 17:11

Blood is the “river of life” carrying the imperative energy of the cosmos through the body.  Throughout history human beings bestowed upon its great mystical and magical powers.  Blood is the soul, strength and rejuvenation force.  Blood harnesses the life force, the energy that gives life to all.  You can clearly observe this my watching a persons living energy drain from the body because of blood loss.  The connection between blood and life force is not entirely based on physical evidence, it also has a metaphysical comparison as well.  Blood sacrifices are performed to unleash these powers and propitiate the gods with the greatest of all gifts, this cosmic energy.  This intense ritual of human or animal sacrifice has been around forever and still exists today.  Blood is sometimes used as a potent ingredient in magical charms and spells.

A drop of persons blood used in a spell, can bring them under ones power and control.  The blood of an evil person is believed to have the greatest magical power.  The blood of an executed criminal is said to be a powerful protector against bad luck and disease because of the energy of fury and resentment that is released during execution.  The strongest oath is the blood oath, in which people mingle their blood.  The blood oath is meant to be unbreakable and forever.  So when a vampire consumes the blood of a victim, he wields not only the power of life and death, but magical power as well and creates a connection to the victim that is difficult to break.  Vampire blood has great healing properties and the victims of a vampire should either smear themselves with the vampires blood or drink it in order to be released from the vampires curse.  The magical properties of blood continue to the primary element of appeal with the fascination of the vampire.

Blood is essential for good health because the body depends on a steady supply of fuel or energy and oxygen to reach the billions of cells.  Without blood human wouldn’t be able to keep warm or cold, wouldn’t be able to fight of infections or be able to expel waste products from the body. As the blood carries materials to the cells to build and nourish the body, likewise the words of the Holy Spirit carries spiritual material to build and nourish the fruits of the spirit in the mind, such as faith, love, patience, self-control, joy, peace, ect.  The words of truth by the Holy Spirit remove all toxic ideas, such as hate, lust, greed, and doubt from the mind.

From the beginning mankind has recognized the power of blood to seal his mind.  All cultures have know that blood has the power to heal, remove sins, appease the gods, and facilitate blessings from them.  Magic plays an important role in mankind’s worship of various deities and the spirit.  Since blood represents life, it is believed that by offering up blood or using blood in some rituals, it has the power of passing on this principle of life, giving power to protect, heal and create.  Blood magic is magic that is enhanced by ritual and the  of blood during that ritual.  By using this powerful essence that exists in the body, the practitioner is able to heighten the act of the ritual which then adds greater power to the spell itself.  The spell is then charged with an unparalleled amount of energy.  Spells with blood are very powerful and are used to achieve incredibly potent and powerful results.  Blood magic is dangerous.  The power that is found within the physical substance that is blood, is taken, used and shaped into a reality (the reason of the spell).  Blood magic can be used to withdraw the life energies from others, curse them with disease or even clean and heal their sickness.  A blood sacrifice is one of the more powerful forms of magics one could perform and practioners  believe that it releases an instant burst of power which is used for the performance of spells and conjuration.  Human blood is powerful stuff, both as a physical, life-giving substance and a tangible instrument for psychic workings.  A lot goes a long when using blood in a spell. 

Blood both attacks a repels.  Needed for life, directly connected to death, the sight-even the thought- of blood has held a special fascination.  It plainly holds the power of life and death and humans have always allocated it with magical capabilities, sacred meaning and ritual significance.  Blood can be taboo, blood can purify and make holy.  Ancient Egyptians believed blood carried the essence of life.  Roman gladiators drank the blood of defeated men to gain their strength.  The Bible mentions blood over 400 times.  “For the life of the flesh is in the blood,” says Leviticus, then forbids the children of Israel from consuming blood or allowing strangers who do so to live with them.  Red wine was associated with the blood of the Greek god Dionysus, and his followers symbolically drank it as gods blood.  The blood of Christ is signified by the wine of the Eucharist.  Religious sacrifices marked by the spilling of a victims blood, “fed” and nourished ancient deities.
